In Years 3 and 4 we were required to help two local companies with current issues that they may have been facing. This required conducting research and analysis and recommendation plan and presentation for the clients.
In year 3 my group consulted for an owner that was in the beginning of starting his business but had no idea about where to begin to market his business. Unfortunately, we signed a nondisclosure agreement as he had created his business plan and found the perfect location, but had not yet opened or established the business.
For this project, I took the leader role for my group of five and was responsible for meeting outcomes such as creating and signing group contracts, arranging client and group meeting, ensuring project deliverables and project overall was completed on time.
We divided the project in different parts and for my part I focused on establishing a target market for the client, researching platforms to attract his target market and finding the right platform management system. My other team members were responsible for establishing the brand designs, and creating a marketing campaign for the opening day of the company.
For the research portion, I conducted research on a target market that would be suitable for my clients field of business which was music ( musical practice) and concluded that he should begin marketing to individuals 16 and up since individuals around the ages of 16 are likely to begin a band and continue it into adulthood. Then I conducted research on the different social media platforms including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram, that individuals within this age group and up are likely to use. I recommended that Instagram and Facebook would be the most beneficial for the client to begin, Pinterest at the time wasn’t the best option for his business and Twitter was a great way for him to reach his mature target.
